The Stable Studio

The Stable Studio is one of those little hinterland venues that already has so much character before you add anything to it. The old horse stables have been thoughtfully restored into a simple, versatile event space, surrounded by paddocks, fruit trees, Byron Creek and roaming horses and cattle. It feels rustic without being overly country, and elegant without trying too hard.

We love it for intimate celebrations because you can move naturally between the different parts of the property, a ceremony outside, drinks on the lawn, photos through the orchard, then dinner in the Gallery or outside under the trees. The Gallery, once a hay shed, has polished concrete floors and exposed timber beams and also gives you a really useful covered ceremony or dining option if the weather turns.

From a Mondaine perspective, it’s a dream little blank canvas. The surroundings already do so much of the work, so you don’t need to over-style it, a beautiful table, considered furniture, lighting, florals and a few playful details can completely transform the space without losing its character.

We’ve previously worked here for Jamie & Laura’s Italian-inspired hinterland wedding, where a marquee, clean white linens and touches of green sat beautifully against the rural setting.

• There is no commercial kitchen onsite. The venue provides a small undercover catering setup area with power, water and portable preparation tables. Catering needs to be organised by the couple or event coordinator.

• The Stable Cabin accommodates two people and overlooks the creek. Micro Wedding packages include two nights’ accommodation, while Legals Only packages include one night. For other events, the cabin can be booked separately.

GOOD TO KNOW

• All guests must depart by 10pm. Live music is permitted until 7pm, with a DJ or playlist permitted until 9:45pm. 
• The Gallery provides a covered ceremony and intimate dining option.
  
• Parking is available for 6 cars, however guests are expected to arrive by minibus.
  
• Planning: A professional wedding planner or coordinator is required for all wedding bookings; DIY weddings are not permitted.
