Celebrated on New Year’s Eve, Elly and Sean’s wedding was wild in the best possible way and we loved every minute of it.

They took over a sports and recreation centre on Broken Bay near Sydney, turning it into their own little island world for 24 hours. Having already married in Japan a few months earlier with their families, this celebration was all about their closest friends, the people who feel like family, and creating one big, joyful party around them.

There was a token ceremony, followed by a lunch with touching speeches, music and celebration, and that slightly surreal feeling that comes with having everyone together in one remote place to celebrate these two’s love on the last day of the year.

Planning a wedding on an island came with its fair share of logistical challenges, but helping Elly and Sean bring such an ambitious, playful celebration to life made it all the more rewarding.
